About the Recipe

Spices add something extra to simply roasted or grilled foods. These Latin seasoning blends are an easy way to add delicious flavor. I like having them on hand and experiment with adding them to different foods like vegetables, meats, chicken and fish.

Ingredients

Adobo
2 tablespoons fine sea salt
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon turmeric
½ teaspoon ground black pepper

Sazón
2 tablespoons fine sea salt
2 tablespoons ground annatto or sweet paprika
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon turmeric
½ teaspoon ground black pepper

4 6-ounce filets of salmon

Preparation

Make seasoning blends by combining all the ingredients into separate glass airtight containers. Cover tightly and shake well to incorporate.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. To season the salmon filets, sprinkle ½ teaspoon of each blend on top.  Place salmon in a baking dish and cook for 12-15 minutes. Salmon can also be placed on a sheet of aluminum foil on a medium high grill and cooked for 12-15 minutes.
