Mango and Avocado Salsa

About the Recipe

Salsas can cause intestinal distress for some people with IBS given the high amounts of fructans that come from the onions and garlic found in many recipes. This fresh salsa uses green scallion tops to add flavor, and small amounts of mango and avocado. You can also try replacing onions and garlic in your own favorite tomato based salsa recipes if you cannot tolerate mango or avocado.


  • 1 mango, peeled and chopped

  • 2 small perisan cucumbers, chopped

  • 1/2  avocado, peeled and chopped

  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley or cilantro

  • 2 tablespoons green part of scallion, chopped

  • 4 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice

  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt 

  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper


Mix all ingredients in a bowl
